Xbox HDMI port repair: what actually fails
If your Xbox has no picture but still makes the startup sound, the HDMI port is the first suspect. A clean port replacement in Lafayette Parish is often $80 to $150. Torn pads cost more because they need trace repair, not just a new jack.
Rule out the cheap stuff
Swap the cable. Try another input on the TV. Try another TV if you can. If a known-good cable and input still show nothing, and the console chimes, stop buying cables. The port or the encoder path is next.
What a bumped cable does
The HDMI shell is soldered to the board with a row of tiny pins and a set of anchor legs. One hard pull lifts those pins. Sometimes the console works if you prop the cable up. That is a failing joint, not a TV setting.
On site versus the bench
If the pads are shiny and intact, we can often swap the port at your house and test on your TV the same visit. If the pads are gone, the console comes to the bench. We do not start that work until you have heard the higher price.
Warranty
A replaced port is covered for 90 days against a bad joint. It is not covered against another yanked cable. If the plastic shell of the new port is torn, that is a new incident.
